Let's Go Shopping!!!

Shopping is so much fun! So, I happen to need a new pair of jeans because my old pair were..... well..... old. So they were handed down to my sister and are so big on her (by the way, these were my skinny jeans and they are too tight on me) and they just hang on her. She won't be needing any new clothes anytime soon.
So we got to go shopping at the mall! We typically go to North Point Mall. We went into a lot of my favorite stores like dELiA's, Hollister, American Eagle, Aeropostale, but I ended up buying most of my clothes at dELiA's. I got some (I my bizarre opinion) really cute clothes. And some were even on sale too which is great when your parents make you buy all your own clothes.
But when we got back home we told my dad about getting some new clothes. Since black friday is coming up he suggested that we return everything and just buy it all back then. Ok..... that's doable, except that I took the tags off just about everything.
Well, I am wearing them right now and we went out again to do some more shopping. This time it was Christmas shopping. I (believe it or not) have just about finished my Christmas shopping for everyone on my list. I think that is a record for me. But I am still planning on going to the mall and on black friday hopefully and with friends. It would be awesome if I could go with some friends because so far I'm going with my sister. The only reason to go back (other than finding useless junk for myself at great prices) is to finish up Christmas shopping. And why I'm not finished yet is because I'm not exactly sure what to get for some people. So that's what I'll be doing after Thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving!

Room Makeover

If you've seen my room, you would probably agree with me that I needed a room makeover (because.... YEESH). I actually have a nice room and I love it! But what I'm really talking about is the furniture. My twin beds were about 100 years old and we constantly had to keep fixing them because they kept falling apart. Here is what it looked like...

This is about the only picture I have of one of the beds the day it was moved out. I've had it since I moved out of a crib, so it was a little sad to see it go, but I was glad to finally get some new furniture. The bed kept breaking on the corners and my mattress had fallen in a couple times. And when we first moved into our house, I had some nails I found in my carpet, so I placed them on the table. Well, my seven-year-old brother and his friend found them, and well, you could probably guess what they did with them. Here is another reason to get a new bed.

So as you could guess, I didn't exactly like the fact that there were names carved in my bed. So now I have a new full bed! Well, it's new to me (it was my sisters) and it has an awesome mattress (also my sisters). I am proud to say that I no longer own twin beds! I still haven't chosen a bed spread though. I'm looking at things from Roxy and PBteen and found an awesome, rotating, bookcase/mirror/hook/cork board....... thing. Whatever you want to call it. We found it at the Pottery Barn store on sale because it was missing two shelves, all three hooks, and it was dented on the side. We figured we could fix it up so we (my mom) got it. After we get it fixed this is what it should look like.

I can't wait to finish my room! But if you have any suggestions for a bedspread or anything like that, please comment!(I really like neon, you probably already saw that). I also love all of PBteen's furlicious (< click it) items! I just think they are the coolest things! They also look really comfortable. The only thing that takes up a lot of space in my room and looks really tacky is the Lego table. Yes, believe it or not (I will admit it) I have a big, square, green, blue, red, yellow, Lego table sitting right smack in the middle of my room. It makes my room look really "little-kiddish" but you have to admit, one can never outgrow Legos. Although it isn't the only thing making my room look tacky; I have about seven small cork boards with cut-out pictures from magazines, stickers, stationery, and drawings. But scrap booking and making little collages are still fun and that is why I have them hung on my wall. That's about all that's new for my room. Please comment with suggestions!

School, School, and More School!

Wow, when people told me that high school was a big step up, they weren’t kidding! Not that I actually go to a high school, (I’m home schooled) the work is just harder and more than what I’m used to. I probably shouldn't be complaining because everyone goes through this at one point or another, but it does give you something to write about, and writing about school made me think about something.
You always hear kids complaining about school, dreading every morning about how they have to wake up at six, wishing for a snow day to show up out of nowhere, and hoping their dog really does eat their homework. Yeah, we’ve heard all that and we’ve probably done all those things too (admit it, you have, too). But then I hear my mom say how all the kids receiving this fancy education or any kind of education have taken it all for granted and don’t appreciate school for what it’s worth.
She mentioned how people from all over the world come to America for their children to go to school hoping someday they will be successful in their career. Even these kids realize what a privilege it is. But one thing the children of America don’t think about is one question, and it may have never even crossed their mind: what if there were never such thing as school? At first, some might be thinking, “YES!” But if you really think about that for a minute it would hit you: you wouldn’t know how to do anything. Of course you would figure out the basics, 1 rock + 1 rock = 2 rocks, and how to communicate things such as, "I hunt bear. Big bear, I hunt," but you would never really know the meaning behind anything. To kids that probably wouldn’t mean much, but then they would realize there wouldn’t have their xbox in the living room, that new ipod they want for Christmas, their TVs they stare at for half the day, because no one would be able to make them because they never went to school to learn how things work.
Well, that is just a thought for the day. I hope I learn to appreciate school the way I should, and I hope others feel the same.

"Orange Picks"

These past few days, our aunt, uncle, and grandma came to visit us from Florida. It’s always so much fun when they come to visit. We did a lot of different things before they left. They came to watch us play tennis, we went shopping, we watched a ton of hilarious old family videos (we couldn’t stop laughing!), went to church, went to CPK, and some other fun things. Our aunt Donna is my mom’s sister and her husband is Destry. Destry is really funny! He can say some really funny and random things! Donna is sweet and loves to laugh! Sometimes we start reciting all these Brian Regan jokes and we all started laughing our heads off, especially Donna! Brian Regan is a really funny comedian that we all love! And our grandma is our mom’s mother who we call Obachan. We call her that because she is Japanese and in Japanese, Obachan means grandmother. She is so sweet and is always trying to help out and serve. But sometimes she says the funniest things. It’s not that she means to, but it’s just the way she says things. For example, whenever she says, “the olympics” it ends up sounding like “orange picks.” Imagine what it sounded like when she said it for the first time. No one had any idea what she was talking about. It’s pretty funny. Once we were telling her about a friend named Dena as she was making dinner. So whenever she said Dena, it sounded like dinner. I’m only writing this because I think it’s sweet and funny. Then just recently Donna sent me this video we could all relate to. This guy is spot-on! If you’ve met her, you will know what I’m talking about! Even if you haven’t, it’s still really funny! Enjoy! Don't forget to comment!

Style

Fashions come and go. And there is always a new trend, and by the time you get it, it’s out of style! Everyone wants to be “in” and with the latest thing. As my family says, I have a “unusual” style. I admit it, even I think I do have a weird style as much as I want to be in style. First of all, I love neon! Ever since I was 5 I’ve wanted a hot pink sports car (Yes, I know. That’s crazy). Neon is awesome!!! Especially in shoes. Converse has some shoes like that that I got at Target. I love my shoes! I designed some shoes on converse.com and I LOVE them! Here is a picture of one side, and then the other.

and then there are these AWESOME New Balance shoes I am in love with!

And of course, everyone loves their TOMS.

Believe it or not, the style that is common today for girls are these feathers. They come in all kind of crazy colors (even neon!!!) And yes, being the weird person I am, I want one (no offense to anyone that already has them, that doesn’t mean you are weird). I asked my

mom and she said “no neon”.

Sadly, those are the words I hear much too often. So we agreed that I could get a natural color such as a tan, brown, or maybe black. I have a friend who got one in her hair and it looks really good in her hair. So my friends and I planned to get one last week, but that wasn’t able to

happen. We are hoping to get them in sometime this week. I know it’s probably going to be one of those things that come one day and are gone in a month, but I still think It would be fun to get something new done in my hair. Besides, they stay in almost as long as you want, but all you have to do is brush them out to get them out of your hair the day they go out of style (or until you hate them).

God's Cake

Well, this is my first entry, so to start off, I thought I’d write about something fun and something everyone can relate to: emails. Emails are always fun when they are from your friends. But sometimes you get a new email, a much needed reply, a fun invitation, a group email, pictures, YouTube videos, forwards, and some other things. I am always getting forwards. They are from friends and family, and some of them, I have to admit, are sorta stupid. A lot of the times you will see emails saying, “Send this to 15 people in 15 minutes and your wish will come true and if you don’t you will have bad luck for the next 10 years.” Yeah, a lot of them are pretty stupid. That is the typical forward email kids or teens get from their friends, but every now and then you find something worth reading. The other day I got something from my grandmother that was really sweet and really worth sending, so I forwarded it. I ended up getting it back about 4 more times from other people forwarding it to their friends. It was called: God’s Cake. And here is the email.

God's cake.... This is about the best thing I've ever read as an explanation.

Sometimes we wonder,'What did I do to deserve this?' or

'Why did God have to do this to me?'

Here is a wonderful explanation!

A daughter is telling her Mother how everything

Is going wrong, she's failing algebra, her boyfriend

Broke up with her and her best friend is moving away.

Meanwhile, her Mother is baking a cake and

Asks her daughter if she would like a snack, and the

Daughter says, 'Absolutely Mom, I love your cake.'

'Here, have some cooking oil,' her Mother offers.

'Yuck' says her daughter.

'How about a couple raw eggs?' 'Gross, Mom!'

'Would you like some flour then?

Or maybe baking soda?'

'Mom, those are all yucky!'

To which the mother replies :

'Yes, all those things seem bad all by themselves.

But when they are put together in the

Right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake! '

God works the same way. Many times we wonder why

He would let us go through such bad and difficult

Times. But God knows that when He puts these things

All in His order, they always work for good! We just

Have to trust Him and, eventually, they will all

Make something wonderful!

God is crazy about you.

He sends you flowers every spring and

A sunrise every morning.

Whenever you want to talk, He'll listen.

He can live anywhere in the universe,

And He chose your heart. If you like this, send this on

To the people you really care about. Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are

Here we might as well dance!

Well, that’s the email. :) It really makes you think about life, and it makes a lot of sense. I just wanted to pass that on to everyone. Hope you enjoyed! Thanks, Honey!
